  • how do I register for Upside?

  • what do I do if I don’t see the confirmation email in my inbox?
    • Please check your Junk Folder for the confirmation email, as it sometimes ends up there. Please also add info@sportupside.com to your Safe Sender’s List.

  • how do I change my password?

    • select “profile”
    • select the edit icon (top right)
    • enter new password in the “password” field
    • confirm your new pass word in the “confirm password field”
    • press save

  • what do I do if I forget my username?
    • email talk_to_us@sportupside.com & we will help you!

  • am I automatically accepted into my sports group?
    • players & parents are automatically accepted into any sports group they join
    • coaches must be accepted by the group contact when joining a sports group

  • how many sports groups can I join?
    • you can join as many sports groups as you are currently playing/coaching at

  • what are connections?
    • users must connect with other users in order to communicate with them
    • users can invite anyone in their sports group to connect
    • users must accept invitations
    • coaches must be connected to a user in order to add them to an event, give feedback & complete a report

  • what is my goal list?
    • your goal list can be accessed when you’re creating a new event, by pressing “add goals”
    • this is a list of your goals and/or sports group goals that you can add to your events
    • you can add goals to your goal list by pressing “+” & adding a “goal” or “goal set”

  • what is a goal set & how do I add one?
    • a goal set is a grouping of multiple goals
    • to add a goal set:
      • press “+” on goal list
      • chose “goal set”
      • enter your goal set name & “ok”
      • press the jade arrow next to the goal set name
      • press “+” and add individual goal information
      • press “+” to continue adding new goals to the goal set

  • how do I add goals to my goal list?
    • press “+” and chose “goal”
      • enter goal & it will be added to your list for continual use
    • press “+” and chose “goal set”
      • enter goal set name & save
      • press the arrow to the right of the goal set name
      • press “+” to add each individual goal to the goal set

  • what is the Demo Club?
    • the Demo Club is set up for everyone to join & play around in
    • please feel free to test out the features
    • contact the group contact if you have any problems

  • who pays & how much is Upside?
    • Upside is FREE for players, coaches & parents
    • additional features are available users in a paying sports group
    • the pricing is listed here

  • what features are in the club version/performance version?

  • how do I leave a sports group?
    • if you are no longer playing/coaching at a sports group:
      • select “my sports groups”
      • swipe left to reveal a jade “leave” on the sports group
      • press “leave” to confirm

  • how do I add an event?
    • select “calendar” & “+”
    • add event details in the “general” tab
      • if event repeats each week, or multiple days a week, you can select this option
    • add participants (players & other coaches you are connected to) in the “participants” tab
    • add goals (goals you’ve created or goals created by your club) in the “goals” tab

  • how do I add/remove participants from an session/event?
    • select “edit” on a session you would like to add/remove participants from
    • select “edit session”
    • press the “participants” tab
    • add participants by pressing “add participants”
    • remove participants by tapping their name
    • press save & select “this session” if it is for the one session or “all sessions” if you would like the edit to include the session you are editing & all future sessions on that day of the week

  • how does absence work & why is it important?
    • in order to give feedback, you need to complete absence
    • the absence list automatically displays all players as present
    • swipe right on a player name to remove the checkmark (iOS) or uncheck the box (mobile web) and save player as absent
    • feedback will only send to present players

  • what is the difference between feedback & messaging?
    • feedback
      • one-way coach feedback on a session
      • sent to players in attendance only
      • a notification is sent through player messages
      • saved in player feedback list
      • included in final event report
      • included in interim report(s)
    • messages
      • conversation based two-way communication
      • sent to selected players
      • sent to player messages
      • saved in player messages

  • how do I send voice feedback?
    • voice feedback can only be done on an Apple device
    • select “feedback” on your session
    • press the microphone icon, bottom left
    • press the purple “record”
    • start giving feedback!
    • press the purple “stop”
    • you can press the jade “play” to listen to your feedback or the purple “x” to cancel it
    • you can add text to the “feedback” field or leave blank and “send”

      • what is a player progress report?
        • reports can be completed for any event a player is on
        • a report includes:
          • summary section
          • all goals for the event
          • if your sports group is on the performance version, all text & audio feedback history for this event will display

      • how do I send a player progress report?
        • select “reports” & chose the player
        • select “goals” to update any goals that have yet to be updated/leave them unachieved
        • select “report” to enter the summary, review the report & send

      • what is an interim report?
        • includes all open events that the player is a part of, irregardless if you coach the event or not
        • an open event includes any events where the end date is further out than the chosen interim report end date
        • a report includes:
          • summary section
          • all goals for the open events
          • all text & audio feedback history for the open events

      • how do I send an interim report?
        • select “reports” & “+”
        • select a player
        • enter the start date & end date for the report
        • enter the summary, review the report & send

 

 

players

      • how do I register if I am under 13 years old?
        • your parent must register & join your sports group
        • then your parent can select “players” & “+” in their account
        • your parent assigns you a username & password by entering your details & saving
        • you can now login with your username & password
        • you must join your sports group

      • how can my parent view what I am working on & how I am doing?
        • logged into their parent account, select the player name
        • this allows the parent to see all player activity
        • the parent can act as the player within the parent account too

.

      • how can my parent communicate with my coach(es)?
        • parents have their own menu, before selecting a player in their account
        • this menu includes their own place to join sports groups, add connections & message their connections

.

      • how do I view the goals I am working on?
        • select “goals” in your menu to view all your achieved goals

.

      • how does my home page pyramid work?
        • the squad, individual & fitness pyramids on your home page calculate how many hours you have completed in the events you are currently participating in

.

      • how do I put a match in my calendar? (Sports Group must be on the Performance Version)
        • go to your calendar & press “+”
        • enter the match details
        • add your coach(es)
        • add goals from your goal list (press “+” to add goals/goal sets to your goal list)

      • how do I send a match report to my coach(es)? (Sports Group must be on the Performance Version)
        • go to your reports & your match report will be viewable under “pending reports”
        • press “goals” if you have goals to update
        • press “report” & enter the summary, opponent name, type of match and result
        • Apple device: if you played doubles: swipe the jade bar next to “doubles?” to the right to reveal a checkmark
        • Apple device: if you played singles: leave the jade bar next to “doubles?” unchecked
        • Apple device: if you won the match: swipe the jade bar next to “win?” to the right to reveal a checkmark
        • Apple device: if you did not win: leave the jade bar next to “doubles?” unchecked

      • how do I get started?
        • register your sports group on www.sportupside.com (only need your name, address & email!)
        • if you are a coach, register as a coach & join your sports group
        • invite players, parents & other coaches to register
        • accept coach requests to join your sports group
        • start entering sports group events

      • how many members can I have?
        • you are allowed unlimited number of members in your sports group on Upside

.

      • what member information do I see?
        • members will provide their
          • first name
          • surname
          • city/town
          • country
          • player’s year of birth
        • if members fill out their complete profile, you can see a number of other things

.

      • how do I upgrade from club version to performance version?
        • select “upgrade”
        • press “upgrade” under performance version
        • select either annual billing or month-to-month
        • enter billing company name (if different from club name)
        • for UK sports groups only: enter your VAT number (or check if not registered)
        • press “upgrade” to go to Worldpay and enter secured credit card information
        • all coaches & players in your sports group should now have access to all performance version features
